I realised these days when I read something, it has to be a classic.
I don’t mind contemporary reads, but quite often no matter how engrossing the read is, once it is done very little actually registers. The ride was good while it lasted but leaving a lasting impression it does not.
That’s why classics are the way to go. This one is no exception.
The narrative, story, development, climax, aftermath are top notch. That’s all given. It reads the reader gasping ‘what a ride!’. I didn’t exactly left wanting for more as the story on a whole was satisfying and exhausting enough.
Being the lame person that I was, I looked up the internet for a movie adaptation, to my surprise (or perhaps not..) the role of Henry Curtis was altered to a female in the form of Sharon Stone. Such ingenuity! (Not...!)
