On a busy day at work, I took a quick breather at work and looked at linkedin profiles of my old work mates.
My old boss Ben at ICAP has retired and is 'picking walnuts in his garden' according to Kit. His boss has left too. My other teammate in the US has joined another organisation as a snr director.
Once upon a time we were the sexy Global IT security team, each looking after one region. I was incredulous when they (including my boss) referred to me as APAC head of IT security; I guess that was the highlight of my career.
I have fond memories of that work place but it is a different beast altgrther now. Time is relentless and ruthless. No matter how hard you worked, no matter how much you cared, everything becomes irrelevant when time is up, and we never know when that may be exactly.
